Bookspark

Sometimes I feel like making something but don't want to have some huge project on my hands. Creating something small like a bookmark can satisfy your craft craving without sacrificing time. These also make great personalized gifts. Don't be afraid to get creative with it!

Who's Got the Button?

A friend of mine just recently had an adorable baby boy with her high school sweetheart and to congratulate them I created this button card. The background stamp used was the main source of inspiration, besides the cute little guy! The best way to adhere something thick and heavy, like a button, is to use glue dots. They can be found in many sizes and are therefore useful for a variety of projects. Try it!

Magnetic Attraction

Seeking a fun, fast paper crafting project? Well, you know those free magnets you get from your hairdresser, bank, or perhaps the local auto shop? Pretty boring right? Well, why not make them a little more stylish? You could even make it to match your kitchen decor! For this particular one I used two-sided paper, which automatically makes it easier since you know it will match. The two flowers, which by chance matched the paper so well, are Jolee's dimensional stickers. To top it all off, there's a small stamped saying attached with a mini pink brad. I also separated the paper with 3-D dots to give it some depth. If you can't find these free magnets, or if you're simply looking for stronger ones, they can easily be found at your local craft store.

Blush Crush

I really do love the delicate pear like shape of the briolette. Which is why I designed this choker with pastel and clear pink ones. Interspersed between these are silver cast flower beads from Blue Moon Beads. It is strung on two separate wires, I always use Beadalon 19 strand solid silver because it is really strong, and the last bead is strung on both wires simultaneously to hold it in place. The focal point is a medium sized dichroic glass bead which charmingly brings the colors all together.

Sharing the Love

I wanted to share this card I made for my beau one Valentine's day. After trying to come up with a non-traditional card fold, I created this crème de la crème. The trick is to make sure you don't exceed the fold to be the width of the envelope. Therefore, this card measures 4 x 5 inches, and fits perfectly into the envelope it was made for. I used regular 8 1/2 x 11 inch cardstock and cut it to be 11 x 5 inches. The stamps and most of the cardstock are from Stampin' Up! The front of the card tucks inside two slits made with an exacto knife and when unfolded it reveals itself as a self standing work of art for your honey to admire. The best part is that the space tucked underneath the fold can then be used to write a special love note just for them.

Prelude

Salutations!

I wanted to take a moment to give you a general idea of what this blog will be about before jumping into any real posts. For those of you who may not know, Objet d'art is defined as an object of artistic worth. Because I sometimes create rather bizarre things, I've decided to do a little play on words. I know, i know, another pun into todays punorama media world? Ehh, whatcha gonna do?

I create a collection of things like jewelry, stamping projects, card making, sketches, knitting, etc. Basically anything that can be concocted with glitter or beads. Hopefully these pages will inspire you to make something fun as well. Enjoy!
